District Beavers Air Activity Day
19th October 2014
Over 70 Beavers from Dartford descended on RAF Hendon on Sunday 19th October.
We assembled by the huge structure by the main entrance ready to go through security. A few of the Beavers were a little worried that the Security men were going to eat their packed lunches whilst going through the bag check - luckily none were. Once we all were through, we arranged what time we were going to meet up for lunch, then the Beavers and their Leaders went off to fill in their questionnaires. Before we knew it, it was time to meet up for lunch in the Aeronautics Interactive area. The Beavers quickly devoured their packed lunches so they could go and play on the interactive equipment. They liked pretending to fly on a full size hang glider, sitting in the cockpit of an aeroplane and sitting in a helicopter to name but a few of the things they could do. Then it was time for the obligatory group photo in front of the Lancaster Bomber. The Beavers went off to finish exploring the museum. The journey home was very quiet after all the walking they done.
The Beavers and Leaders enjoyed the day and one or two Leaders said they had learnt some new things.'
